When I joined the roster at House Special back in 2019, my first project was a collaborative short film with the new team. We embarked on a story that spoke to our love for nature and combined House's award-winning character animation with my design sensibilities.
But like all things during the pandemic, priorities shifted, work got busy, and we set this film aside for a few years to focus on other projects. Before I wrapped up my time with House, we decided to return to the film to finish it, so in many ways it summarized my time with the studio.
The result is a beautiful exploration of man vs nature, and vice versa, as we portray an elk’s connection to its environment, visualizing its senses as if the Earth were an alien world, and showing how prey has the upper hand by being in tune with its surroundings.
